Harpsden Cricket Club – Welfare & Safeguarding
Harpsden Cricket Club is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for all players, members, and parents. We follow the safeguarding policies and procedures set out by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and the Local Safeguarding Children’s Board to ensure the welfare of all young cricketers.
Safeguarding extends beyond individual child protection; our goal is to create a safe and inclusive space where young players can develop their skills, enjoy the game, and reach their full potential.
As part of this commitment, we have a Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy in place, along with clear procedures that all officials and members must adhere to. It is essential that everyone involved in the club is familiar with these policies, which can be accessed below, along with the contact details for our Safeguarding Officer.
Harpsden Cricket Club is also an ECB Clubmark-accredited club, a recognition we take pride in. This accreditation ensures that we uphold high standards in health and safety, child welfare, and overall club management. It also reflects our dedication to supporting young cricketers in transitioning from junior and school cricket to senior-level play.
We promote respect, equality, and sportsmanship, encouraging all players to uphold the values of fair play and enjoyment of the game.
